Caring for Your Swimwear

Proper care keeps your swimwear looking beautiful season after season.

Always rinse swimwear after swimming to remove saltwater, chlorine, and sunscreen residue. Hand washing with mild detergent helps preserve elasticity and vibrant colors.

Avoid harsh chemicals, direct heat, and rough drying methods to extend the lifespan of premium fabrics.

Store your swimwear in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can fade colors and weaken elastic fibers over time. Consider using a breathable mesh bag to allow air circulation and prevent moisture buildup.

When traveling, pack swimwear in a separate compartment to keep it away

from other items and prevent color transfer. A waterproof pouch can protect your swimwear from spills and keep it organized in your luggage.

Rotate between multiple swimsuits if you swim regularly. This gives each piece time to fully dry and recover its shape, significantly extending their durability. Constant use without rest can cause elastic to break down faster.

For swimwear with embellishments like sequins, beads, or metallic details, turn the garment inside out before washing. This protects delicate decorations from friction and fading while still cleaning the fabric effectively.

Avoid chlorine pools immediately after applying sunscreen or body oils, as these substances can stain and damage swimwear fibers. If you must swim with sunscreen, rinse thoroughly as soon as possible after leaving the water.

Never use a washing machine or dryer for swimwear, even on gentle cycles. The agitation and heat can permanently damage elastic and cause colors to fade. Hand washing takes just a few minutes and preserves your investment far better.

If your swimwear develops a strong chlorine smell, soak it in a mixture of water and white vinegar for 15-20 minutes before rinsing. This neutralizes odors without damaging the fabric or elastic.
